What comes next
Musings Vol. 215
We are meant to be in a continuous movement with life: a rhythm of inhale and exhale, receiving and releasing, beginning and ending. And there is something deeply comforting in remembering that this flow of life does not need to be forced. It is already moving, all on its own. As Pema Chödrön says: “Things come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen.” Just like each out-breath makes space for the in-breath to arrive, life is always creating room for what comes next. All we need to do is soften and let it continue to move through us.
Notice where you are in the rhythm of life’s expansion and contraction.
What is emerging within you?
How does it want to move through you?
In which ways are you being asked to let go?
Take a moment to reflect on all that has moved through you since the beginning of this year, despite the intensity of this moment in the world. Perhaps it showed you that even through the more challenging seasons, you can still find it within yourself to grow and expand, as well as release and soften. Take comfort in knowing that everything always moves through these cycles. As you soften into this wisdom, make space for life to happen, just as it already is.
